At Harris HospisCare we aim to improve the quality of life of our patients through skilled, compassionate palliative care and support for their families and carers. Our services for people living in the London Borough of Bromley include:
- home and day care led by specialist nurses and doctors
- social work and welfare support
- creative and complementary therapies
- bereavement support
- spiritual care and
- lymphoedema service.
We are only able to achieve these goals with the incredible support and generosity of our local community. By remembering a loved one and making a donation in their memory, you will be helping us to continue providing free care and support to people throughout Bromley.
You can now donate and make a dedication online, or you can download a Light up a Life registration form below.
If you would like to make a donation and dedicate a light on the tree to someone who has died, you can donate and make a dedication online or there is a downloadable form here or you can request a form by ringing or emailing the Fundraising department.
Your donation will help us to continue providing the specialist services that enable the Harris HospisCare team to support over 1,900 local people in Bromley each year. Dedication names will appear in the Light up a Life programmes, on special display boards at the church services and on our new web site. The Tree of Lights will stay illuminated until Saturday 5 January 2012.
- Sunday 25 November at 4pm - St Nicholas Parish Church, Chislehurst
- Sunday 2 December at 4pm - St Michael and All Angels Church, Locksbottom
Our Light up a Life events offer people from the local community the chance to come together at what for many people is often a difficult time of the year and remember someone who has died.
Once again we hosted two beautiful church services in Chislehurst and Locksbottom. Both events were followed by the lighting of our new Trees of Light, both of which will remain illuminated until Saturday 5 January 2013.
This year we have refurbished our Trees of Light at both churches and they were illuminated for the first time after the services. All those attending were welcome to stay for mince pies and mulled wine following the lighting of the tree.
We would like to invite you to make a donation in memory of someone and help to support our vital work. As well as a light on our tree, we will display those dedicated names at both services and in our Book of Remembrance on our website. You will also receive a special dedication card.
- Thursday 22 November at 6pm - Coolings Green & Pleasant, Knockholt
Following on from last year’s inaugural event, there was again a secular remembrance ceremony at Coolings Green & Pleasant in Knockholt on Thursday 22 November at 6pm. The Dedication Tree was once again be present throughout December for people to hang messages.
There was an opportunity for people to hang dedication cards on the Wish Tree, which will be present at Coolings throughout December.
This event is an inclusive ceremony, open to people of all faiths or none.
Following the event, both the shop and the Blueberry Café was open, with Coolings generously donating 10% of all sales to the hospice. The open evening included a Christmas department, gifts and decorations plus singing from Green St Blues.
If you would like to make a donation in memory of someone please complete the online donation form. Alternatively you can complete and return the form (PDF) at your earliest convenience. Please send donation or attendance forms to Harris, not to Coolings, thank you.
